Privacy policy

What we collect

• When you order: your name, phone number, email address if you give one, delivery address and region, and what you bought.
• When you book a barber: your name, phone number, any note you add, and the service, barber and time.
• When you pay: Paystack handles your card or Mobile Money details. We only receive whether the payment succeeded and the amount.

There are no customer accounts and we don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use it

• To confirm, pack, deliver or hand over your order, and to call you about it.
• To send you text messages, and emails if you gave an address, at each step of your order, and to keep your booking.
• To let you track an order or change a booking. Both need your phone number as well as the order or booking code, so a code on its own reveals nothing.
• To handle refunds, returns and questions, and to keep the business and tax records the law requires.

We don't sell your details or share them for anyone else's marketing.

Who handles it for us

These companies process your details on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

• Paystack, to take payments. If you don't give an email, Paystack receives a stand-in address made from your phone number, so its receipt reaches no one else.
• Arkesel, to send text messages.
• Resend, to send emails.
• Vercel, which runs this website, and MongoDB Atlas, which stores orders and bookings. Both keep our data on servers in South Africa.

Inside our shop, staff see only the details their job needs, such as the dispatch team seeing delivery addresses.

Saved on your device

Your cart, and the checkout details and recent orders you choose to remember, are saved in your own browser so you don't have to type them again. They stay on your device until you place an order or booking. You can forget them at checkout, or untick "Remember these details on this device" on a shared computer.

How long we keep it

• Checkouts that were never paid are deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Paid orders and bookings are kept for as long as we need them for business and tax records.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them, apart from records we must keep by law. You can also object to how we use them. Contact us below and we will reply as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

Keeping it safe

This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Our records are kept in a secured database that only signed-in staff can reach, and staff passwords are stored scrambled so no one can read them.

To stop misuse, such as someone guessing booking codes or flooding the shop with fake bookings, we count how often each internet connection and phone number uses these pages. The counts are kept against a scrambled form of the address or number, not the address or number itself, and are deleted within a day.
